Is the internship paid?

The Future Ready program is an unpaid internship, designed in compliance with Fair Work Act requirements for genuine learning and development experiences. The focus is on gaining valuable industry experience, professional networks, and job-ready skills.

What qualifications do I need?

You need to be a recent ICT graduate (within 2 years) with Australian work rights. We welcome graduates from all ICT disciplines including software development, cybersecurity, data analysis, web development, and IT support.

How are placements selected?

We carefully match graduates with employers based on skills, interests, career goals, and location preferences. Our extensive network of partner companies ensures diverse opportunities across Tasmania's ICT sector.

What support is provided during the internship?

You'll receive monthly check-ins with our career coaches, access to professional development resources, problem-solving support, and assistance with any workplace challenges. We're committed to your success throughout the entire program.

What happens after the internship?

Some graduates receive job offers from their host employers, job offers are not guaranteed, you will now have a professional reference and have expanded your industry network. For others, we provide ongoing career support package including job search assistance, interview preparation, and professional references to help secure employment.

Everything you need to know about our internship and coaching programs

How long is the internship program?

The internship runs for 12 weeks, part-time, giving graduates time to build skills and employers time to assess fit. It's the perfect blend of learning, contribution, and real-world exposure.

What support do graduates receive?

Graduates receive end-to-end guidance, including:

Resume and LinkedIn optimisation
Interview preparation and confidence coaching
Weekly check-ins throughout the internship
Industry introductions and networking support
A dedicated contact for ongoing assistance

We're with you from application to completion.

Do graduates get hired after the internship?

Many of our graduates convert into contract or full-time roles because they come prepared, proactive, and aligned to employer needs from day one. Please note converting to being hired is also based around a role being available as well as your performance.

How do you match interns to employers?

We run a detailed scoping session with the employer to understand project requirements, tech stack, team culture, and preferred working style. From there, we shortlist candidates who genuinely fit, no random pairings, ever.

Are internships remote, hybrid, or onsite?

We offer all three. The format depends on employer preference and the type of work involved. If you are a Professional Year student you must complete your internship onsite.

Do employers pay to host an intern?

No. Hosting an intern comes at no cost. Employers simply provide meaningful project work, a safe environment, and mentorship.
